Here's how to use each of our Complexion Brushes to achieve a beautifully natural look:
Foundation brush
The Foundation Brush is expertly designed to deliver an even, smooth application for your foundation.
Start by dispensing one pump of your My Custom Foundation onto the back of your hand. Use the brush to pick up the product, ensuring the bristles are evenly coated.
Begin at the centre of your face and use circular buffing motions to blend the foundation into your skin. This technique creates an even layer of coverage while ensuring a natural finish.
Small buffer brush
Perfect for buffing and blending foundation or concealer into smaller areas, the Small Buffer Brush is great for getting into those tricky areas around your eyes and nose.
Its compact size allows for detailed work, ensuring even coverage in the most delicate areas.
Use it to achieve a smooth, flawless finish.
Concealer Brush
The Precision Concealer Brush is your go-to for targeting blemishes and hard-to-reach areas.
Its fine tip allows you to pat your product gently onto imperfections before blending seamlessly.
This brush is ideal for precision work and ensures your concealer is applied exactly where you need it.
Powder Brush
The Powder Brush is perfect to use with setting powder to finish your makeup look.
Use gentle, outward motions to buff powder onto your face to help your makeup stay in place all day, and provide a soft and natural finish.
How to clean your brushes
Maintaining the quality and hygiene of your brushes is simple. We recommend cleaning your brushes weekly with warm soapy water.
The brush-washing process is made up of three key steps. Carry out each one thoroughly and carefully, and your tools will last longer, feel better and keep your look fresher.
step 1: wash
There are plenty of amazing specialist brush cleansers out there, but if you’re not keen on investing, a gentle shampoo or face cleanser will do the job just as well.
Washing up liquid is good for stripping out grease, but it can be quite harsh on your brushes, so we’d only recommend it as a last resort.
Hold the bristles of each brush under lukewarm running water, ensuring the handles do not get wet. Then dip them into some of your chosen cleanser and use your fingers to lather them up for two to three minutes.
step 2: rinse
Rinse your brushes until the lather is completely gone, then squeeze them out.
Still seeing residue? Repeat step one as many times as you need to for the water to run clear as you rinse.
step 3: dry
When you’re confident your brushes are squeaky clean, squeeze out as much water as you can and lie them flat on a towel to dry.
We’d advise not leaving them with the bristles standing up, as this could leave you with water-damaged handles or can disturb the adhesive that secures the bristles.
Even if you’re in a hurry, try not to use a hairdryer, which could end up melting your brushes – not ideal! Instead, use a dry paper towel to press out any excess water, or leave your brushes near a radiator (not on the radiator!) to speed up the drying process.
